Kalli turns 8!!!
I cannot believe that my first baby has turned 8!! That seems so old! I am really trying to refrain from saying the cliches...it seems like only yesterday, or where has all the time gone...but shoot it is the truth! What happened to that tiny little person I brought home from the hospital and wondered what exactly I was supposed to do with?? I am proud of the girl she is and the young woman she will soon become!
OK, so enough of the sentimental reminiscing....for her birthday I convinced her to wait until August to have her party...lots of her friends had already left on summer vacation, and I just wasn't really in the mood to plan and carry out her party! So we just went to dinner on Saturday night and then had some of the Harshaw kids come over for a sleepover. Lots of fun!

The end of another school year...
Abby graduated from Kindergarten on Tuesday. I had never even heard of such a thing until we moved here. I was amazed at the lengths some parents went to to celebrate their kids just moving up to 1st grade. The kids did a cute little program and then got to walk across the stage to get a "diploma". When Abby walked across, her dad yelled really loud "Yea Abby" she turned all red. Afterwards, she asked me why her dad would do that and I told her that it would only be the first of many times to be embarrassed by her parents.... I am so relieved that I no longer have to deal with half day kindergarten...it is such a HUGE pain! Luckily by the time Emma starts school they will have full day. I'm glad to have the girls home and glad to not "have" to go anywhere...only places we want to go. However, I can do without the constantly messy house!
